You want to change the decor at home, in the office or at the cottage, but to do it quickly, cleanly and cheaply – in this case, wallpaper is the solution. This is one of the fastest ways to update the interior. The wallpapers have a variety of colors and patterns that will break up the design of your home. You can decorate the walls yourself, because wallpaper is easy to apply and does not require special skills.
When you decide to wallpaper the walls of your home, the first step you should take is to determine what type of wallpaper you should buy. If your walls are smooth – all grades of wallpaper will be suitable, but if the surface is not smooth to cover up any unevenness, you will need to use vinyl wallpaper.
The next step you need to do is choosing the color and pattern of the wallpaper. “Alma Home” Ltd. has a wide range of colors and designs, which makes it easier to make an interior decision. As a manufacturing company, we advise you, our customers, to use darker colors for lighter rooms, and light tones for darker rooms.
After purchasing the wallpaper, you need to prepare the room – the surface before gluing should be dry, clean and as smooth as possible. It would be nice to prime the wall beforehand.
The glues that the manufacturer “Alma Home” Ltd. recommends should be based on carboxymethylcellulose or nitrocellulose glues. The type of glue must be matched with the type of wallpaper. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to dissolve and dilute the adhesive.
Before gluing the wallpaper, the height of the room is measured in several places so that there are no differences in the cutting. Then the required number of strips are cut, bearing in mind that after gluing, the shapes must match. After you have already cut the wallpapers, you need to glue them. To do this, unfold the strips on a table and evenly, using a brush or roller, apply a layer of glue. Gluing is done in the direction from top to bottom, slowly in a vertical direction smooth the wallpaper with your hand from the top edge slightly to the side to expel the air and prevent the appearance of bubbles. After you glue the first strip, you continue with the next one, watching for matching shapes if there is a match. Be careful not to stretch the wallpaper tape when smoothing, as joints may open after the wallpaper dries.
